Singapore: Grundfos invests S$40m in new Asia Pacific HQ

Water pumps manufacturer Grundfos has invested S$40 million in its new Asia Pacific headquarters.

Located at Singapore’s Tukang Innovation Park, the new facility includes the company’s latest assembly line, which can boost its production capacity.

The new manufacturing facility uses “green” technologies and smart engineering, which can improve the building’s energy efficiency.

Grundfos said the new facility can help the company save 40 per cent in energy costs and around 1.8 million litres of water annually.

In 2011, the company posted about S$600 million in sales from the Asia Pacific region, representing around 15 to 20 per cent of the group’s total revenue.

It expects output at the new facility to increase by 15 per cent in the first year of operations. Eventually, output is expected to grow to three times its current capacity by 2022.

Søren Sørensen, Group Executive Vice President at Grundfos Group, said: “We have quite an aggressive expansion plan, we want to grow around 15 per cent every year all over Asia.

“This facility will be a good means and a good tool to realise that ambition. We will grow by building more companies, we grow by going into new segments, new business areas and again, we will see the green agenda being the driver for sustainable business.”
