BEX Asia 2014: A Platform for The Exchange of Global Expertise and Solutions for The Build Green Industry

The seventh edition of Build Eco Xpo (BEX) Asia will be held from the 1 – 3 September 2014 at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Partnering with key government and industry organisations like the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore (BCA) and the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC), BEX Asia brings together more than 350 companies internationally from Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, USA and UK to showcase their latest green products and technologies to more than 10,000 building professionals from the region.

With a key focus on sustainable solutions, intelligent energy efficiency and industrial efficiency, architects, real estate developers, building owners, contractors, engineers, interior designers and consultants will be able to view and experience the newest products and solutions for use in their existing or future green projects. Like in previous shows, international brands will launch their first-to-be-seen in Asia solutions at BEX Asia 2014. With the increase in government incentives for building professionals to Build Green, these new products and technologies would be a boon to meet the increased demand for green technologies in Asia.

“BEX Asia continues to be one of the leading business platform for global suppliers, regional buyers and green building professionals to meet and network. This year, we will be having pavilions from Japan, Taiwan and Singapore, which promises to be an exciting showcase of their latest eco building exhibits. To guarantee that visitors and exhibitors get connected seamlessly, we will be continuing our customized business meetings, where a buyer can meet with their preferred choice of vendors and vice-versa. It has proved to be highly popular last year and we received many requests to continue this initiative again this year,” says Ms. Louise Chua, Project Director, Reed Exhibitions Singapore.

In line with the green agenda, guest speakers from the region will also be sharing their expertise at a special feature area, The Green View. Mr. Emmanuel Clair, Group CEO of Light Cibles will be discussing on the topic of “Bridging the Gap between Disciplines to Achieve Good Design and Savings in Power. Other speakers include Naree Phinyawalana, Director, Atelier Ten Bangkok, and Mr Steven Kang, Business Development Director, Measurement and Verification

The International Green Building Conference (IGBC) 2014, organized by the Building Construction and Authority (BCA) of Singapore, will also be held concurrently with BEX Asia 2014 and will host more than 1,000 building practitioners from over 30 countries. Themed “Build Green, lead, Engage, Sustain”, this year’s event will lead the next phase of green building movement by focusing on higher standards of building efficiency, indoor environmental quality through sustainable building products and technologies and users’ comfort and productivity. Policy makers and key government officials from growth markets in the region will also be presenting their perspective about the policies and plans in their respective markets.

Collectively, BEX Asia and IGBC 2014, will lead the way – for the exchange of global expertise, knowledge and solutions for the Build Green Industry, paving the way to achieve BCA’s vision of having 80% of green buildings in Singapore by 2030.
