Indonesia’s Sustainable Future with Green Construction

This paper was presented during the Carbon Neutral Conference on Sustainable Buildings. The paper initially describes the concept need of becoming ‘green’. It talks specifically about how Indonesia’s Green Building Council in conjunction with other bodies is promoting sustainable construction through initiatives such as ‘Program Bangun Praja’ and ‘Cipta Karya’. The paper then discusses the importance of effective policy development and its implementation for heading towards more sustainable buildings and construction. Finally, there are 3 case studies of exemplary green construction, where the authors detail the strategies and steps involved.
