Julie Newman shares insights on the current trends and challenges of the sustainability efforts in campuses.

Campuses around the globe are now developing a sustainability strategic plan to establish a conceptual and quantitative baseline on the energy usage, water usage, waste management, etc. These sustainability efforts are aimed to spur a more streamlined educational process, yield an environmental discipline and develop it as an ethos within time.

Julie Newman is the Former Director of Sustainability at Yale University and the Incoming Director of Sustainability at MIT, as well as an advisory committee member of the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN).
