India : Introducing the first five-star GRIHA certificated building

Chhattisgarh’s first five-star rated green building ‘Paryavas Bhawan’ in Naya Raipur had just been inaugurated by Chief Minister Raman Singh towards the end of July 2016.

Located on North Block Sector 19, this office building is built for the office of Raipur Development Authority (RDA), Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA), Chhattisgarh Housing Board (CGHB) and Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board (CECB).

Along with the ultra modern facilities used, this five-storey building is also completed with 200 KW capacity of solar power plant and arrangement for rain water harvesting.

According to Aman Kumar Singh, the Principal Secretary of Housing and Environment, the Building has been constructed to meet the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) five-star certification.
