Asia : more upcoming EDGE certified buildings

Perkins Eastman, an international development and design firm, has announced it’s commitment to applying Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) in at least five projects within next year.

Edge is a certification system by the International Finance Corporation (IFC). EDGE is designed to find measurable solutions for the advancement of green buildings. The software provides cost effective methods to build green buildings personalised to the occupants, local climate, and the type of building constructed. In an attempt to influence the industry to pursue more low-carbon and lower-resource strategies, the IFC has partnered with Perkins Eastman to target emerging markets like India and china.

IFC’s green building investment portfolio reaches almost $2 billion in worth. Meanwhile, Perkins Eastman has experience with the sustainability market. It is a signatory to the carbon neutrality initiative the ‘2030 Commitment’ and has led sustainable projects in China and Turkey.
