India : LEED gold certification for JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar

Committed to sustainability and green practices, the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar hotel has been awarded with LEED Gold certification by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). Developed by K Raheja Corp, JW Marriott is not only the front runners in the hospitality industry, it also received a rating of 66 points in the Final Certification review from IGBC.

Shabbir Kanchwala, Senior Vice President of K Raheja Corp said that they have committed to the green cause and will ensure giving eco-friendly & positive impacts to the environment and to the community. He added by saying that the corporation will continue to strive and adopt sustainable business practices to achieve more in the property sector now that they have been awarded the certifications.

The JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar hotel area focuses its efforts on water and energy efficiency, the use of certified materials, improved air quality (indoor and outdoor) and also eco-friendly building design.

India’s hotel industry continues to move forward as more and more hotels are shifting to sustainability, and JW Marriott is a good example of that.
