Singapore has emerged as one of the winners in the AP Smart City Evolution Index with four out of 14 categories in The “Smart City Initiatives 2015” contest across the Asia-Pacific region, excluding Japan.
IDC recognized the Intelligent Transport System Initiative (transportation), Smart Water Sensors for Water Management (smart water), National Environmental Agency Smart Mapping for Dengue Prevention and Control (land use and environmental management), and Education programme called FutureSchools@singapore.
Mainland China followed as the runner up and won the three out of 14 categories in the competition. The most outstanding projects include the Smart SME Registration, Domestic Regionalization and Internationalization eServices in Beijing, HangZHou City’s Integrated Smart Citizen Card (Zhejiang Province), China (connected health), and Chendu City’s Life 88 Service. With Hong Kong’s Science Park, the smart building also won the best AP Smart City initiative under the Smart Buildings category.
